About Us

I grew up in delightful DeLand, Florida, when citrus and orange trees were still growing everywhere, and in the spring bloom season, the fragrance was amazing. I spent a lot of time at the local freshwater springs, at the beach, and on the St. Johns River. I’m a twice-removed Bulldog at DeLand High School, and the University of Georgia. College football is a passion, what makes it all the more fun… being in a house divided with a Georgia Tech grad. I’m also a US Army Veteran, served as a combat engineer building float bridges and worked with explosives. Not sure how I managed to survive with all my fingers and toes. 

We love dogs, and at the last count, we have eight across many breeds. The four English Pointers work in tandem with the English Cocker for quail hunting, and in the off season some serious lizard hunting. My wife Becky and I along with our two adopted kids (now young adults) attend Christ Community Church.  Besides our church, we also support numerous organizations like the Athens Theatre, the Good Samaritan Clinic, the Neighborhood Center, The Rotary Club of DeLand, and various other mission’s organizations. I received honorable mention for the Lifetime Achievement Award for the Invest in Others Charitable Foundation. I have been featured in media outlets such as the WKMG Best of Central Florida TV Program, the Orlando Sentinel, the Daytona Beach News Journal and the Volusia/Flagler Business Report. 

Growing up in a really dysfunctional family, there was no clarity and confidence for life and no living life by design in our finances.
