Great times with a Grandson

by | May 9, 2017

Our grandson Calvin spent some fun days with us recently while our daughter and son-in-law took a needed break on a cruise for their anniversary.  It’s hard to explain the pride, joy and sense of wonder in seeing the legacy of your family  continue through the next generations.  We all hope and pray they live lives of honor, integrity and make significant contributions to make a difference in the really short lives we have here on earth.
What I find so amazing is their intelligence and ability to learn things so quickly.  Calvin, barely 2 1/2 , could watch us lock a door and was already working it trying to escape outside.  While at a school function for our other daughter, one of the teachers was fawning on him and he plainly said to her, “I don’t know you”. You certainly don’t want him messing with your IPhone, he’d be tweeting something crazy to the world before you know what happened.

One of the days he was with us I watched him the entire day and after breakfast, chasing after the dogs, (who surrendered obediently to his affection hoping he wasn’t a hair puller), splashing in the pool, stepping on a few plants and smelling flowers in the garden, being pulled around on the cart, doing Leggos,, Pawpaw, was sure worn out!

Before we knew he was gone and the only evidence was the smudge on the panes of the French doors that he could reach.  You’re sad to have them go but grateful for the time to rest and recover until next time, we see them for a beach vacation in June!
